FOR TEACHERS

Arcadia in the classroom β€” free to publish, with a full-year curriculum for grades 4–8.

Arcadia is a tiny programming language for 2D games that compiles to real WebAssembly, designed for classrooms. Students write plain-English commands β€” spawn a ship, push it, decide what happens when it hits an asteroid β€” and the compiler turns those words into a working game. No installs, no accounts to play, no asset stores, no ads.

WHAT YOUR CLASSROOM GETS

Free publishing for teachers

A self-attested teacher license costs nothing. Your students' games can go live without anyone paying.

Safe by design

Playing requires no account at all. Creator accounts are username-only by design. Every submitted game is vetted automatically before it appears in the public arcade.

Stable, append-only language

Programs written this September will still run in three years. The language only grows by addition β€” your lesson plans don't expire under you.

Every game has a URL

Build a Game-of-the-Week wall. Share a link with parents. Students see their work played by people they didn't pick β€” the single best driver of engagement we've found.

THE TEACHER EDITION CURRICULUM

Arcadia: A Programming Curriculum for Grades 4–8 β€” a modular, full-year teacher edition. Twelve units across game structure, motion, events, decisions, loops, physics, the math toolbox, scientific simulations, game feel, and a capstone constraint jam. Every module is self-contained, with learning objectives, step-by-step tasks, a four-level rubric, practice exercises, a quiz, and teaching tips. Standards crosswalk on request.

Currently in preview release. Free download for teachers while we gather feedback from the first classrooms using it.

To the teachers using this β€” thank you. We built Arcadia in part with classrooms in mind, and it gets better when you tell us what your students need. If a module is missing, a rubric doesn't fit, or a student found something we should know β€” write.
Questions, module requests, the per-module standards crosswalk, or a great student project worth sharing: isac@sensym.ai. We read every note.
